The Boston Orioles started out as a member of the MABL Saturday League back in 2001. Two of the current members of the Orioles were part of that inaugural year (Jason Bressner, the current manager, and Jay Thomas, the current starting catcher). The following season, in 2002, the Orioles were absorbed into the general MABL, joining the Northern Division of the Bay State conference.
The Orioles would continue to grow as a team through the years, finally achieving a level of success in 2007, when the team would make the playoffs for the first time in team history, mounting a stunning regular season come back by winning 7 of their final 8 games to earn a spot, and face the eventual league champion Cutters in the opening round. The acting manager, Jason Bressner, would come in second for the Manager of the Year voting.
The Orioles will be returning with the bulk of their 2007 playoff team in 2008, and look to continue their 2007 progress and advance deeper into the playoffs in the upcoming season.
