2018 Masters' Champions - Metro Red Sox

Stop me if you've heard this before. The Metro Red Sox are the champions of the Masters' division, winning their second straight title and the franchise's 10th overall championship. Remarkably, of those ten championships, half of them would be won in back-to-back fashion.

The Red Sox would finish the 2018 regular season with a 13-3 record, earning themselves the #1 seed and a first round bye in the postseason for the first time since 2015. Their initial opponent would be the Winthrop White Sox who they would go on to defeat 20-1 and 19-5 in games 1 and 2 respectively. The Red Sox' bats would continue to stay red hot in the semis, outscoring Los Gigantes 20-1, completing a clean sweep of the first two rounds and advancing to the finals for the fourth time in the last five years.

The Red Sox would have an entire week to prepare for the finals as they patiently waited to see who their opponent would be. Meanwhile, the #2 seeded Milton Breakers (12-3) would squeak past the Braintree Rockies in the quarter-finals and the Somerville Alibrandis in the semis, coming from behind in both series after losing game one. This would be the first Finals' appearance for the Breakers since joining the Masters' division in 2016.

Finals Game 1 - Red Sox 8, Breakers 1

The Red Sox would earn their fifth straight win and remain undefeated in the postseason, putting them within one win of the championship. The 4-5-6 hitters (Busby, Radabaugh, Hart) would go a combined 6 for 8 at the plate, scoring 6 runs with 4 RBIs. Sam Steed would get the complete game win, striking out 8 and allowing just one run.

Finals Game 2 - Breakers 10, Red Sox 5

The Breakers would hand the Red Sox their first postseason loss as five different Breakers' players would have multiple hits in game 2, including a 3-3 night from Robert Anderson. Juan Mateo would earn the complete game win, setting up an all-deciding Game 3 for the title.

Finals Game 3 - Red Sox 8, Breakers 1

After taking a 3-1 lead in the 4th, the Red Sox would add five more insurance runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach, earning the 8-1 victory and their second straight Masters' title. Busby, Hart and Rousseau would have multiple hits for the Red Sox. The Breakers' Robert Anderson would go 3-3 for a second straight game. Robert Austin would earn the win and Sam Steed would earn the save for the Red Sox.

In the postseason, the Red Sox' offense would bat an impressive .404 as a squad. Tim Hart would lead the team with a ridiculous .789 batting avg, going 15-19 with 3 doubles, 2 triples, and 1 HR. Sam Steed would post a 3-0 record and 0.74 ERA on the hill to go along with 1 save and 19 K's.

Congratulations to the Metro Red Sox on winning the 2018 Masters' Championship and the franchise's 10th title and to the Milton Breakers for appearing in their first Masters' Finals.
